10 Greatest Hard Rock Closing Tracks

6. Billy's Got A Gun - Def Leppard

When Def Leppard started, their brand of hard rock was the perfect combo of AC/DC and glam rock. Once the band got together with Mutt Lange, their mix of pop, rock, and metal made for an absolute thrill-ride on Pyromania. Each of the tracks stands out as a perfect slice of pop-flavored rock, but "Billy's Got a Gun" is one of the band's most cinematic tunes.

The story of the song involves Billy, who is being plagued by various deviants in his life and is finally deciding to take matters into his own hands by killing them. While the actual tale seems straightforward enough, the music is what makes the track sound dangerous as the anguished backing vocals and spacey guitars hint that there might be some other factor that the narrator isn't telling us.

After nailing his target, Billy is seen and has to go on the run trying to evade law enforcement around him. The track picks up some steam to send the listener off as Billy then embarks on his journey to escape from the wrong side of the law. The perfect amount of menace that brings some edge into Def Lep's pop-rock scorcher.
