10 Greatest Hard Rock Moments On Live TV

8. Limp Bizkit's Win at MTV Awards

It's probably safe to say that the reputation behind a band like Limp Bizkit in the '90s was contentious and leave it at that. Although the nu metal craze was made for someone like Fred Durst to become a huge star, there were just as many people getting even more angry that some frat bro was now the face of everything heavy on MTV. Once they won at the MTV Awards though, we found out that that kind of frustration didn't cater to just the fans either.

When Durst approached the stage that night, someone else started making their way through the audience during his speech. As our backwards-hat hero tried to keep things together, Rage Against the Machine's Tim Commerford charged the stage and stole their moment by climbing up on the scaffolding as he spoke.

While this is noted now as just a case of Tim clowning on what he saw as the lesser band, this would be the moment that did a lot more harm to Rage than to Limp Bizkit. Since the rest of Rage weren't too keen on Tim's stunt, tensions started to escalate, which would ultimately lead to them calling it quits after struggling to be on the same creative page for a majority of their work. As it turns out, that won't be the only time that Rage's antics have come across live television.
