10 Greatest Metal Albums Of The 1980’s

3. Megadeth – Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good

Sporting the incredibly underappreciated line-up of Dave Mustaine, Dave Ellefson, Chris Poland, and Gar Samuelson, Killing Is My Business' edgy writing and aggressive nature helped introduce the world to everything Megadeth stood for, and set the stage for their rise to prominence in the coming years.

The darkness of the album is unmatched by anything the group has released since, emphasised by the delightfully evil lyrics of songs like Looking Down The Cross, Last Rites/Love To Death, and The Skull Beneath The Skin.

The record also contains an interesting and surprisingly reputable cover of These Boots (Are Made For Walking), along with Mustaine’s own take on The Four Horsemen, renamed Mechanix. This is not just the best thrash metal album of the 80’s, but one of the best ever, and it deserves to be spoken about in the same breath as the band's most popular releases.
