10 Greatest Old School Death Metal Albums

autopsy 2 Probably the most maligned sub-genre within Heavy Metal, Death Metal is often perceived as impenetrable noise with no artistic value but this could not be further from the truth. Although the vocals can be a barrier for anyone new to this form of music, the genre has much to offer. Most Death Metal tracks contain enough riffs and time changes in 3 minutes to fill an AC/DC album and many of the most talented musicians of the past 25 years have filled the ranks of Death Metal bands; technically these guys have mad skills! This list is concerned with those bands who played pure death metal, not overly technical or melodic (Scandinavian Death Metal and Technical Death Metal will be tackled in later articles) but straight up, no frills, as ugly as they come, Death Metal. As with my previous articles I have limited this list to one album per band in order to remain as diverse as possible. It may be insanely fast, it may be brutally loud and it€™s certainly not for everyone but it sure is impressive (if you can deal with those Cookie Monster vocals). Let the throat shredding and whirlwind head banging begin....

I love Heavy Metal, and generally anything that involves a guitar and loud noises, so I figured it was about time I put all the useless information in my head to good use and start writing a few things. Most of the time I'll be writing nonsense but occasionally I may surprise myself and appear half-way knowledgable.....but you can be the judge of that. Thanks for your fleeting attention!
