10 Greatest Secret Music Concerts Of All Time

7. Foo Fighters

WHERE: Concorde 2, Brighton

WHEN: September 10th, 2014

God bless tribute bands. Talented musicians who put their own ambitions to one side to pummel out the hits of their favourite bands to a ready made audience. A good tribute band can be a fine career move and, if you happen to be a tribute to the nicest man in rock, then you can also get nights like this!

In early September, The UK Foo Fighters announced a show at the legendary Brighton club the Concorde 2. The catch was they were supporting a band called The Holy S**ts. Eagle-eyed fans knew exactly what was going down in this 600-capacity venue, as the Holy S**ts had been playing shows across America the whole summer, as a pseudonym for the *actual* Foo Fighters.

The night came around, the queue for the last few tickets spilled down the seafront, and even when the big moment came, the venue opened their doors so that the hundred or so fans who'd stuck around despite not having a ticket could still hear the excellence to come.

Dave Grohl, being the decent soul he is, even gave his support act their moment in the sun. Dedicating a chiming Big Me to the band before inviting singer Dan Keeble onstage ("Ladies and gentlemen... ME!") to holler his way through Wasting Light's thunderous hardcore thrash White Limo.
