10 Greatest Singers In Rock Music History
4. Paul McCartney
Not many bands can claim to have as many great singers as the Beatles did. Though the Fab Four originally had just John Lennon and Paul McCartney out front, the vocals of George Harrison and Ringo Starr all ended up bringing a certain character to nearly every album they made in some capacity. If we're talking about pure technicality though, Macca may have been the most adventurous out of them all.
Throughout his years with the Beatles, Paul was a master at how many times he could shift his voice in between songs, almost like he's inhabiting a character every time he steps up to the microphone. Hell, if you're not careful, there's a good chance that you wouldn't be able to recognize what songs had Paul singing, going for the soft and soothing tones of Yesterday to belting his heart out on songs like Oh Darling.
And that's only scratching the surface. Going into his solo career, Paul went on to go even more over the top with his voice, going for different vocal effects in the '80s and even flexing some of his crooning skills in the later part of his career. Once you get down to it, we all know what you're getting when Paul steps up to the mic. This is the guy who became the soundtrack of our lives and made so many of us fall in love with music.
