10 Greatest Thrash Metal Albums Of All Time

1. Slayer - Reign In Blood

Slayer Track List: 1. Angel Of Death 2. Piece By Piece 3. Necrophobic 4. Altar Of Sacrifice 5. Jesus Saves 6. Criminally Insane 7. Reborn 8. Epidemic 9. Postmortem 10. Raining Blood Stand out track: Angel of Death....no, Raining Blood....wait a minute, maybe Postmortem. Oh forget it, just listen to the whole damn thing! It€™s awesome from start to finish, that€™s all you need to know. So here it is, the greatest thrash metal album of all time. 10 blistering tracks over 29 exhilarating minutes, this pinnacle of thrash was created by a band who epitomised the scene like no other. Dave Lombardo's astonishing drumming, Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman's scything, stabbing riffs and Tom Araya's threatening bass and vocals, somehow merge to create a tour de force of extreme metal which remains monumentally influential. Tackling controversial subject matter in their lyrics including meditations on death, religion, murder and most infamously, on lead track 'Angel of Death', details of human experiments conducted at the Auschwitz concentration camp by Josef Mengele, this is not an easy listen by any means. Backed up by a pristine production job by Rick Rubin that surpassed all others to date, there has never been an album quite like this and there never will be again. This is thrash metal stripped down to its purest essence and just for the record, Tom Araya's inhuman scream at the opening of Angel of Death is the greatest scream in thrash metal. Thanks Slayer! Honourable mentions: Sabbat - History Of A Time To Come / Death Angel- Act III / Sacred Reich - The American Way / Forbidden - Forbidden Evil / Destruction - Infernal Overkill

I love Heavy Metal, and generally anything that involves a guitar and loud noises, so I figured it was about time I put all the useless information in my head to good use and start writing a few things. Most of the time I'll be writing nonsense but occasionally I may surprise myself and appear half-way knowledgable.....but you can be the judge of that. Thanks for your fleeting attention!
