10 Greatest Unconventional Christmas Songs Ever

8. Gruff Rhys - Slashed Wrists This Christmas

http://youtu.be/QjQgwRr7z6M You may be able to gather why this song isn't played in the Build-A-Bear Workshop during December. From his EP "Atheist XMas," Gruff Rhys sings beautifully about, well, committing suicide on Christmas. Red is a Christmas color, after all. There are times when we just aren't in the mood for the Christmas season and songs like these are good to throw on when you want to stew in your cynicism for a while before putting your appeasing smile back on. Also from his EP is "Post Apocalyptic Christmas." I imagine this guy meeting a girl's parents for the first time and her telling them that he released a Christmas record. "Oh, how wonderful, would you sing one of the songs for us?"
