10 Hard Rock Bands That Completely Changed Their Sound
7. Muse
Muse have been one of the most interesting rock bands to come out in the 2000's. Though the band had a spacey approach to rock, it still felt safely rooted in alternative music thanks to the loud guitars and vocal mannerisms of Matthew Bellamy. But where's the fun in staying the same?
Over the years, the band have made a point to switch up their styles to keep things fresh, which started midway through their career. After perfecting their sound on Black Holes and Revelations, the band opted for loftier musical peaks on The Resistance, which saw them take on Queen's sound as well as some electronic insrumentation.
Though fans loved the band taking chances, many weren't prepared for their huge step into electronica on The 2nd Law, with much of the album draped in a dubstep sheen. With each passing release, the band has fluctuated between the synthetic and organic sides of the music spectrum, but their sound always has an intense force to it that hits you over the head from the very start. Whether you like the intense riffs from the band's early years or the bold reinventions on later releases, there seems to be a type of Muse song for any stripe of music fan.
