10 Hard Rock Bands Who Kept The Same Lineup

1. Led Zeppelin

More often than not, most bands have a singer or guitarist as their shining star. For as much adulation as the band collective gets, there's always that one member who is known as the linchpin of the entire plan. Led Zeppelin on the other hand have a unique dynamic in that one band member is all of them.

From the moment Jimmy Page started putting together the skeleton of the band, things were destined to become big, with his guitar style launching the era of riff rock. Standing up front was Robert Plant, whose vocals had the intensity of someone like Little Richard mixed with the bluesy fire of someone like Janis Joplin. For as content as he was to lay in the background, the band would also not be where it is today without John Paul Jones, whose bass and keyboard lines gave their records an almighty sound.

Surely the drummer is dispensable right? Some may be, but John Bonham sure isn't one of them. From the subtle tapping on "Ramble On" to the pure thrashing he gives his kit on "Moby Dick," Bonzo was one of the most powerful people ever to pick up a pair of drumsticks. Upon his death in the early '80s, there was no question as to why Zeppelin had decided to call it quits. The internal telepathy of the band had been lost forever.
