Alffa is a blues-rock duo formed in North Wales in 2015. The group first found themselves in the mainstream limelight when they were announced to play Horizons Gorwelion Festival in 2018 to display their exciting blues-inspired Hard Rock sound.
The duo found themselves receiving mass attention and international success following their music being included by Spotify’s playlists in South America. This then led to their song "Gwenwyn" becoming the most stream welsh language track ever.
The group is already breaking records and making way for more Welsh music to do the same. The success of the group was partly thanks to distribution service PYST based in Wales promoting artists to major digital music services worldwide. PYST have now been awarded financial aid by the Welsh Government to promote the ever-growing Welsh music scene.
So the group are aiding their community in bringing a monstrous Welsh Blues-Rock sound to audiences across the globe. They have now released a full-length album entitled "Rhyddid o'r Cysgodion Gwenwynig / Freedom from the Poisonous Shadows" which has received critical acclaim following their record-breaking streaming success. The group is still early in their music career but with a start like this, great things are ahead for this talented duo.
