The metalhead's metal band, Gojira have steadily amassed a following of heavy metal enthusiasts and time signature-studiers alike. There's simply something about their approach to metal that ticks boxes in a variety of camps, with latest work Magma being their most accessible yet.

Thankfully they didn't sacrifice any of the heaviness or compositional complexity fans had come to know and love, with the introductory parts of something like The Cell still requiring a ton of dedication to get down.

Put these guys on a bill with Mastodon and watch entire fields of punters wallow in the feeling of heavy metal perfection. Gojira are the only one here where I think they need at least one more album on the level of Magma to cement them as headline material, but they certainly have the chops, and Joe Duplantier's vocals could level a city block.
