10 Hard Rock & Metal Bands With No Original Members Left
5. Heart
Looking back on it now, it's virtually impossible to imagine Heart without the Wilson sisters out front. Throughout the glory years of the '70s (and some embarrassing ones in the '80s), Ann and Nancy Wilson really brought the passion into Heart's sound, with Ann's bellowing voice and Nancy making some of the greatest guitar hooks of the day. However, the original version of this act was a far cry from what we had originally seen.
Long before the days of Dreamboat Annie and Crazy on You, the original incarnation of Heart back in the early '70s was a band known as Army, with Roger Fisher on guitar and Steve Fossen on the bass. Later changing their name to White Heart, the group didn't really have the fire until they drafted in Ann to actually sing their material. Bringing her amazing sister's songwriting skills with her, this made for the classic period of the group, with songs like Barracuda becoming mainstays on rock radio.
As time went on though, it was clear that the Wilson sisters became the real commanders of the show, with Fisher and Fossen fading away with time. Even as they took to the road in 2019, most of the new members of Heart are comprised of musicians who haven't contributed to any real Heart studio album as of yet. Though the Wilson Sisters deserve their place in rock history, this is nowhere near the version of Heart that formed back in the '70s.
