10 Hard Rock Song Lyrics That Nobody Understands

3. Are All Your Infants In Abortion Cribs

Alice Cooper's Wicked Young Man may have been a response to Columbine, but it was Marilyn Manson who took the flack for the violence itself, and, just as Manson was influenced by Alice, perhaps Alice was showing solidarity in the opposite direction.

No matter the case, since the inception of his eponymous band's first album in 1994, Marilyn Manson's image and music have been the subjects of controversies that would make even Alice clutch his pearls.

So many of Manson's lyrics have been misinterpreted and misunderstood, but a choice line comes from 1997's Man That You Fear. The track features the controversial line, 'Are all your infants in abortion cribs?', which evokes images that might have even the most dedicated hard rocker questioning its meaning and their musical allegiances.

The line is a cryptic reference to an event in the singer's childhood where he found a rotting fetus in a discarded coffee can - though this may actually be less palatable than the alternatives.
