10 Hidden Details You Never Noticed In Rock Songs

1. A Day In the Life - Beatles

Ever since the Beatles' released it, Fab fans have singled out Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band as something special in their catalog. Dropping right in the middle of the Summer of Love, many rock fans consider this not just the greatest Beatles album, but also the greatest album ever made. For as much importance every track has, it's hard to really imagine all those accolades without A Day in the Life.

Being one of the few pure collaborations between John Lennon and Paul McCartney, this track really is an experience to listen to, as we hear two different perspectives of a morning routine before building to a massive orchestral crescendo. While a lot of attention is paid to the final chord of the song, there's actually a little mishap that went on on the studio floor.

To maximize the impact of the final piano chord, all of the volume knobs were turned up gradually on the recording console to capture every last second of music, which led to other things being picked up. Once you listen carefully, you can hear both an air conditioner ringing in the background along with what sounds like a shoe speaking, which could have been either Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr depending on who you ask. Regardless of what imperfections might have gone on, this remains one of the Beatles' greatest songs and a landmark production for rock music as a whole.
