10 Incredible K-Pop Songs (That Aren’t Gangnam Style)
2. GD x Taeyang - Good Boy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZRb1we80kM&feature=youtu.beG-Dragon and Taeyang are also members of BIGBANG, but they moonlight as solo artists as well a duo, and Good Boy was one of this year’s biggest K-pop singles, despite being released at the end of 2014.
G-Dragon has previously worked with Flo Rida, Skrillex and Missy Elliot, as well as Diplo who produced much of his latest album, and he is rumoured to feature on Justin Bieber’s imminent new release. Outside of music he has dabbled in art, curating a show featuring 12 international artists which finished in Seoul earlier this month, before travelling onwards to Shanghai and Singapore for further exhibitions.
Taeyang meanwhile was a child actor, and began his training for a career in K-pop at just 12 years old.
Good Boy debuted at number one on Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart in December last year, making G-Dragon and Taeyang only the third Korean artists to have that honour, after (you guessed it) Psy and CL’s main band 2NE1. Fuse called it a “huge EDM/hip hop banger” and Billboard dubbed it “one of the year's most epic club tracks."
It’s so good that it would have been number one in this list, had it not been for a truly remarkable 2014 hit from a truly incredible artist...
