10 Most Influential Style Icons In Pop History

7. Whitney Houston (1992)

Oh Whitney. It's hard not to watch The Bodyguard's 'I Will Always Love You' vid without welling up, especially the bit where the chorus kicks in and she's sat alone on a single chair in an empty theatre, pinstripe black waistcoat and red lippy - the outfit we all remember from 1992. Her first film role also featured the epic glamour robot piece seen above, and the dramatic black satin cloak featured on the original soundtrack. She was known as 'The Voice', but her style will also remembered as an array of shimmering gowns, huge hair and showers of sequins. Whitney Houston Stylight
