10 Key Elements To The Paul McCartney Is Dead Theory
5. The Sgt. Pepper Hand
The Sgt. Pepper album changed rock music forever. Not only did it certify just how cool concept albums could be but it was also a masterpiece that schooled other bands around the world on how to make actual decent music.
It wasn't just the content that blew everybody's mind away the album's design also set the benchmark for iconic album covers. In fact, the album's design is almost as famous as the songs.
The cover includes a colorful collective collage of cardboard cut-outs all representing famous and iconic figures from history. In the middle, The Beatles stand center stage dressed as the elusive and fictitious, "the one and only..." Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
As expected, the album cover brought a lot of theories. Many of which alluded to Paul McCartney being dead. One of the main things pointed towards the mysterious hand that can be seen hovering over Macca's head. It was later suggested that the hand was a symbol of death and that it was placed there to confirm the rumors that poor old Paul had passed away.
