10 Metal Albums With ONE Bad Song

6. Crawling - Linkin Park

There's a good chance that you don't need some random person on this platform to dunk on nu metal anymore. Chances are that most of the Internet has done a good job washing their hands of the era of frat bro metal a long time ago. You'd be surprised that some of the veterans of the scene did manage to hold up though...with a few small exceptions.

Off the back of an album that has gone Diamond, Linkin Park cemented their legacy with Hybrid Theory, only to be kneecapped by the melodrama behind Crawling. That's not even fair though, since the rest of the album deals with the sense of abandon that most teenagers feel, with songs like Papercut and One Step Closer still working insanely well. This is the one that goes a little too far though, with a chorus that actually sounds like Chester is whining the lyrics.

Or maybe it's just the memes that killed this one, with this being the go to song that people like to point to when they want to make fun of nu metal bands. Even though they might have had real pain, Linkin Park inadvertently wrote the theme song to those sad suburban kids who got picked on at school. Still, having one dud amid the other jewels on Hybrid Theory is nothing to be ashamed of.
