10 Metal Bands Who Made 5 Great Albums In A Row
4. Converge
Founders of metallic hardcore and bastions of the legendary Boston hardcore scene, Converge are revered as forever legends within hardcore. Forming thirty years ago, the band began with promise before making one of the most savage and important albums in the history of underground hardcore.
The band’s five-album run begins with 1998's When Forever Comes Crashing which saw them throw away the rulebook that they would later burn to pieces. It’s a whirlwind of an album that led on to the band’s classic Jane Doe (2001) which simultaneously helped create modern metalcore and metallic hardcore whilst raising the bar to a level which no band could reach. Despite this, Jane Doe still inspires to this day, it’s an emotive and impassioned record that teaches people to listen to and create music that makes them feel.
Converge had little trouble following up this record with stellar albums either, You Fail Me (2004), No Heroes (2006) and Axe to Fall (2009) spread themselves across the '00s like an army of classic records - the latter being the only legit competition to the band’s 2001 classic.
Converge have not only written some of the decades most vital music but they’ve inspired others to do so too. Cheers lads.
