10 Mistakes That Made It Onto Famous Rock Songs

How many songs can you think of with dogs barking on them?

The Damned have a song called The Dog where a pooch makes an appearance, and the band Caninus' whole gimmick was that they were fronted by two pitbull terriers. Then, there's this from Jane Addiction.

Been Caught Stealing is actually the band's biggest hit, topping the US rock charts for four weeks upon its release. It will also be known to players of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as one of the songs on the Radio X station.

At the beginning of the song, a dog can be heard barking over the top of the guitar intro. Rather than an artistic choice, this was a total accident caused by singer Perry Farrell's pet, Annie.

"I'm singing in the booth with the headphones on and Annie gets all excited and starts going, 'Ruff! Ruff! Ruff!'" he said. "The fact that she ended up on the track was just pure coincidence."

In their review of the song, Rolling Stone said that it contained "the best use of dog barks since [The Beach Boys'] Pet Sounds", so hopefully Annie got an extra treat for her hard work.
