10 More Perfect 1980s Hard Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

4. Trash - Alice Cooper (1989)

The vampire count of rock n' roll, Alice Cooper, doesn't look as though he's aged a day since the release of his album... Whatever that poison running through his veins was, it seems to have done him some good. If anybody could turn a metal song into a pop hit, it's Alice Cooper. It was a bold move to open up an album with Poison, strip away the distorted guitars, and it's the type of exposing love song you're just as likely to hear from Madonna.

But it worked. Poison was the track that introduced Cooper's return to metal glory. Spark In The Dark, reassured everybody that this was a gritty rock record, and House of Fire, only compounded that notion. Benefiting from a few blues inspired licks and lyrics from Joan Jett, it was the kind of solid rock number Cooper needed to gain mainstream recognition while retaining his metal devotees.

Only My Heart was a ballad with crying lead parts, and airy vocals - Cooper wasn't afraid of following the tropes of the business - but there was enough horror show attitude to keep things exciting.
