Set in an abandoned warehouse with an all black and white background, it almost feels like the band are playing inside the mind of this wounded soldier, being the only semblance of sanity he has left. As the track goes along though, things start to really take that twisted turn.

Once the double bass breakdown kicks in, you start to feel Johnny's mood change from sadness to panic, all while still showing just a guy lying in bed. As the solo plays out at the end, we see our hero slowly fading away, resigning himself to the fact that he will forever be a prisoner in his own mind. They may have compromised to the style of MTV, but One still stands as the ultimate darkness distilled into just a few minutes.
