10 Most Expensive Rock & Metal Albums Ever Made

8. AC/DC: For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) - $1,200,000

Released in 1981, For Those About to Rock was AC/DC's eighth studio album and their successor to the classic Back in Black. It was their first album with new singer Brian Johnson (replacing the late, great Bon Scott) and was produced by industry veteran Robert "Mutt" Lange. Reportedly, Lange spent ten days in the studio trying to find the perfect snare sound for the album, but couldn't do it. During this time, the band got fed up of his antics.

Malcolm Young once said they didn't even know whether the album was good or bad. So much work and time had gone into it, they just finished it and tried to put it out to get the whole thing over with.

The hardest pill to swallow with the album - outside of the money spent on studio time - was undoubtedly the issues that came with its release. Whilst relatively well received, it wasn't as popular with audiences as Back in Black had been, and Johnson found the album was too over-produced in places and didn't fully fit their sound.

It's a classic album, however, and its title track serves as one of the band's most show-stopping, epic tunes.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
