10 Most Hated Musicians Of All Time
3. Yoko Ono
Reason: Band Destroyer
Out of all the people who populate this list, none have really had the absolute spite of the music industry more than Yoko Ono. Ever since her arrival on the scene, she has been blamed as everything wrong with the music industry, from the pretentiousness in her art to her hand in breaking up the Beatles. However, there's something about the latter that never seemed to hold that much water.
As much as the Fab Four may have been splitting around the time that Yoko came into the picture, this just seemed like a really sexist joke brought on by people who wanted some explanation as to why the Liverpool lads couldn't work together anymore. Though Yoko may have been there, a lot of it just came down to the Fabs growing up, each going their own way with John Lennon following the love of his life into his solo years.
That doesn't get Yoko off the hook as a musician though. For as much as her poetry and avant garde art may have seemed intriguing at the start of her career, most of her new screaming ventures seem like hollow attempts at art when there's none really to be found. She may have been a trailblazer in her time, but people like Bjork and Patti Smith blow this kind of art rock out of the water any day of the week.
