10 Most Hilariously Bad Albums Ever Made
6. Suicide Silence - Suicide Silence
It's completely acceptable for every band to try and switch up their sound from one album to the next. Since playing the same riff over and over again gets boring really fast, why the hell shouldn't musicians be able to flex their muscles a little bit more and see what they are capable of? Well...because 9 times out of 10 you get stuff like Suicide Silence's self-titled record.
It's almost painful to say that too considering how much potential these guys had right out of the gate. After losing Mitch Lucker just a few albums before, the addition of Eddie Hermida on You Can't Stop Me showed that they at least had the ability to bounce back from losing a founding member of the group. Going into the recording for this, the guys decided to throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. Here's the problem....ABSOLUTELY NOTHING STUCK.
As if the weird singing moments on the lead single Doris wasn't enough of an omen, the rest of this record shows Suicide Silence doubling down on that ill-advised decision, taking the worst elements of dated metal gimmicks and somehow making them worst in the modern age. Although they seem to be on the mend in recent years by returning to their roots, this is still a raw wound that the seasoned metalheads aren't going to recover from easily.
