10 Most Memorable Beefs In Rap Music History

2. 50 Cent And Ja Rule

For the third and final time 50 Cent makes an appearance on this list, and this is the crowning jewel in his tumultuous career.

The feud between 50 and Ja Rule kicked off in 1999, when Ja Rule was robbed at gunpoint for his chain, by one of 50's known associates. 50 fanned the flames later the same year by releasing Life's on the Line. The track's hook is aimed directly at Ja and the Murder Inc. label, and 50 remarks in the song that while he started off humble, he is more than happy to take on anyone and everyone in the rap game to get to the top.

A few brawls and physical altercations later, there was still no end in sight for the beef between the two rappers. They traded diss tracks back and forth throughout 2003 and 2004, then the beef began to simmer under the surface, with no major incidents for a while.

In 2013, the pair ended up on the same flight, and Ja tweeted that they were in the same row and there were no problems. Could that be the end to 50 Cent's most historic beef? Of course not. He later performed a diss track titled I Smell Pussy live at a concert in New Jersey, erasing any chances of the hatchet being buried.

Ja Rule has admitted that he thinks 50 has gotten the better of him in their beef, and it's hard to argue that considering that 50 once bought 200 front row tickets to one of Ja's shows so that they would be full of empty seats. The pettiness is off the scale.
