10 Most Obscure Punk Bands Of All Time

9. Descendents

Although their most recent album came out in 2021, American punk rocker's The Descendents roots go back to 1977, when guitarist Frank Navetta, bassist Tony Lombardo and drummer Bill Stevenson got together in Manhattan Beach, California. Similar to many of the most enduring punk bands, The Descendents have something to say and have never held back in doing so.

The group's line-up has undergone several changes during a lifetime which has seen them release eight studio albums, plus several live sets, compilations and EP's. They even have a filmed documentary to their name, 2013s Filmage: The Story of Descendents/ALL, which enjoyed a limited theatre run in the band's home city, and appeared in a number of festivals around the world.

Despite these achievements, The Descendents easily qualify for this list. Long beloved in their native scene, the group never achieved a level of success equal to their obvious talent. They will be a new name to many and are certainly deserving of your time.
