Maiden never really got a grip on the 90’s, there were moments of genius (see previous), but generally they seemed creatively stunted and out of step with the decade of grunge and irony.
Blaze Bailey’s two albums are widely considered the low point of Maiden’s career, but they do contain some gems, such as this epic from 1995’s 'The X Factor'. It’s an atmospheric and elegant track, noticeably given a shot of energy on 2001’s live album 'Rock In Rio', with Bruce now on vocals. Make of that what you will.
