10 Most Underrated Megadeth Songs

3. Chosen Ones

For Monty Python fans, this speed metal-influenced thriller from 'Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!' is a must listen.

The track focuses on John Cleese's ludicrous Tim the Enchanter character, a wizard (?) who leads many of the knights to their untimely deaths at the paws of a giant rabbit. It's as ridiculous as it sounds, making this incredibly aggressive track seem self-contradictory in tone.

What it leaves listeners with is a lightning-fast, adrenaline rushing track with surprisingly funny lyrics mixed in. It's all good fun from their especially high energy debut LP.

Fresh off his unfortunate firing from Metallica, Dave Mustaine was out to prove himself and his new crew in 1985. The production value is, unfortunately, a bit of a mess on account of the band spending much of the budget on food to live and drugs and alcohol to live hard. Beyond that, however, it's a seminal instalment in thrash history and a must-listen for metal buffs.

Tracks like 'Chosen Ones' show off the band's imaginative approach to storytelling and composition. Not a second is wasted here in building up a breakneck pace with Mustaine and Chris Poland's duelling guitars really lighting the tune up. A fun little gem from the thrash juggernaut's early days.
