2. Whitechapel Let Me Burn
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5tXsWlcj7g Directed by Mitch Massie (famous for directing one of the most infamous music videos of all time, Cattle Decapitation's Forced Gender Reassignment), the video for Let Me Burn is all blood, flesh and glinting, sharp metal. You can imagine how those components mix. Let Me Burn was released from Whitechapel's fifth studio album Our Endless War. According to the band's vocalist Phil Bozeman, the video is about a man who goes insane, killing his wife and forcing his daughter to subsequently kill him. The man pours gasoline over himself and demands his daughter set him on fire. The video is supposed to depict how regardless of what you have in life, nothing matters if you don't have control of your mental health. It's a noble message, but it's slightly obscured by the video's incoherent style and focus on blood and gore.
