10 Music Artists Who Released Their Best Album Last
1. Random Access Memories - Daft Punk
After an eight-year wait between 2005's Human After All, and their 2013 release, Daft Punk's next album would have been highly anticipated in and around 2021, but fans were left disappointed, as the only news that came from the duo was the announcement of their break-up.
Daft Punk's somewhat short discography is littered with exceptional tracks, from Around the World, to One More Time. The funk and disco-infused house music that came from the pair of French musicians has been a mainstay of most millennial playlists, and despite each of their four albums wielding some immensely memorable tunes, Daft Punk went out with their best album: Random Access Memories.
Released some eight years before the duo called it a day, Radom Access Memories featured tracks like Instant Crush and Get Lucky. After scooping up five Grammy Awards, with the latter song winning Record of the Year, as well as the whole album taking the top prize, Random Access Memories stayed with fans, and critics, for the years following its release.
It's the most ambitious of Daft Punk's offerings, and improved upon the first three outings in every way possible, from its blending of genres, to its superb production value.
