10 Music Artists Who Released Their Best Album Last

6. Circles - Mac Miller

Mac Miller's passing in the summer of 2018 was a huge shock to music fans everywhere. His talent spread across six studio albums, and though many have a strong love for 2018's Swimming, it's his 2020 posthumous release that will surely stand the test of time the best.

Circles is a collection of songs that feel poignant, but immensely powerful, with the lead single, Good News, leading the emotional charge. It's an album that is uplifting in the face of overwhelming tragedy, and refines Miller's often eclectic sound beautifully.

Mac's subdued, minimalist vocals are allowed to truly shine on tracks like Everybody, and the penultimate song on the album, Surf. His voice isn't as widely appreciated as it perhaps should be, but the way in which Circles put it front and centre assures fans that it will be adequately appreciated moving forward.

Without the artist's passing, Circles is a fine example of a relaxing, lo-fi infused rap record, and one that has so much replayability for a range of different scenarios. The added weight of Mac Miller's death brings a new, deeper meaning to each and every stellar song that makes up the album.

Fan of ducks, ice tea and escapism. Spends much of his time persistently saying 'I have so much studying to do' before watching Zoey 101 for the millionth time. Thinks Uncharted 3 is the best one.
