10 Music Artists Who Released Their Best Album Second

3. Dream Girl - Anna of the North

Norwegian singer-songwriter Anna of the North (Anna Lotterud) is a dream for anyone with a taste for soft, comfy, relaxing indie music.

Beginning her journey in the music industry in 2014 and releasing debut, Lovers, some three years later, it wasn't until 2019's Dream Girl that the dream pop sensation's music demanded more radio play.

Interests were piqued with the song of the same name, and though Dream Girl's commercial reception was modest, critics praised the direction taken after the somewhat samey first release didn't offer anything unique.

The chilled-out vibes of Anna of the North's Dream Girl are delightful, and its reflective lyrics give the album great depth. The second track, Leaning on Myself's words evoke a lonely, aimless feeling that is wonderfully paired with simplistic, ambling percussion and soothing synths that truly bring the track to life. Gladly, the album maintains its quality throughout, and can make even the rainiest of days feel like a pleasure.

Singles Like Here's To Another and Someone Special are keeping us excited for future releases, but whatever direction Anna of the North takes, it'll have mighty big shoes to fill following 2019's Dream Girl.
