10 Music Autobiographies We Would Love To Read

1. Ringo Starr

What is there to say about this really? One of the fab four and a living legend. While it may perhaps seem more logical to opt for a Paul McCartney offering, maybe we would get a better understanding of what it was like in The Beatles from the man who could see it all from the back.

We can be certain that Ringo€™s memoirs would be written with modesty and good humour, and I think he would have a particular talent for describing his larger than life experiences in a down-to-earth tone. With the release of this book, perhaps we could finally attain some closure on certain infamous events within The Beatles that have been speculated on for so long that the truth has become blurred with myth and legend.

Aside from The Beatles, Ringo€™s time spent in the 1970s making films, hanging out with Marc Bolan et al., founding his own record label, drumming with his ex-bandmates and generally enjoying the personal and creative freedom of no longer being in the world€™s biggest band would also make for a captivating read.

Personally, I don€™t think anyone is in a better position to tell one of the most musically and culturally significant stories of our time, and I for one would love to hear more from the man who brought us Octopus€™s Garden.

Which musicians would you like to see bring out an autobiography?
