10 New Artists That Prove Music Today Is Awesome

4. The Killers

The Killers Las Vegas new wave rockers The Killers have unquestionably been one of the most celebrated bands of the last 10 years. Responsible for possibly the most iconic indie rock anthem of the entire decade, 'Mr. Brightside', they've dominated the scene since the very beginning, when their début album 'Hot Fuss' was released in 2004 to widespread praise, and they've grown into one of the hottest rock bands on the face of the Earth. Resolutely devoted to maintaining the waning originality we see in music nowadays, The Killers act as a shining example for any band hoping the make their mark. Hailed as one of the most impressive live bands around and considered by some to be the most important group to ever come out of Las Vegas, The Killers have delivered time and time again with the fantastic albums 'Sam's Town', 'Day & Age' and 'Battle Born', the latter of which culminated in their most widespread sell-out arena tour ever. The band's interesting and distinctive dance-rock vibe and the compelling low tenor voice of frontman and creative force Brandon Flowers has placed The Killers right at the hub of heart-felt, stadium-ready synth-rock music and it looks like that's where they'll be staying for the forseeable future.
