10 New Wave Of British Heavy Metal Bands That Are Better Than Ever

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNLEFyRXSsU Classic Album You Should Own: Burn This Town (1983). Recently re-released, this classic debut should have led to greater things. Recommended Modern Album: Heavy Metal Sanctuary (2014). Heavy Metal doesn't always need to be flashy or progressive, it just has to make you bang your head. Heavy Metal Sanctuary will make you do exactly that, stock up on painkillers, your head is gonna need 'em! On 2014's, Heavy Metal Sanctuary album, Battleaxe prove their relevance in the modern scene by delivering an album that goes straight for the jugular; highlights are hard to name, each track hits like an axe to the face, ferocious Thrash Metal merging with the power of classic NWOBHM. They are currently the most Thrash Metal sounding band from the NWOBHM era and it's refreshing to hear. The gritty vocals courtesy of Dave King are as gravelly and harsh as ever, although not so harsh that we enter Extreme Metal territory, and the gang-style backing vocals also bring the 80's Thrash heyday to mind. To quote a lyric from their Heavy Metal Sanctuary album, "the Metal Gods return". Well, welcome back boys, it's good to see ya again.

I love Heavy Metal, and generally anything that involves a guitar and loud noises, so I figured it was about time I put all the useless information in my head to good use and start writing a few things. Most of the time I'll be writing nonsense but occasionally I may surprise myself and appear half-way knowledgable.....but you can be the judge of that. Thanks for your fleeting attention!
