10 New Wave Of British Heavy Metal Bands That Are Better Than Ever

3. Tygers Of Pan Tang

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1XlaDklasE Classic Album You Should Own: Spellbound (1981). As Lean and muscular as the tiger depicted on their album covers, Spellbound, the band's second album, perfectly showcases the Tygers songwriting prowess. Confident, wild and filled with songs primed to rip and tear its contemporaries to pieces, the NWOBHM has very few albums which can rival this classic release. Recommended Modern Album: Ambush (2012). A career highlight and an album to rival their first three NWOBHM classics Wild Cat, Spellbound and Crazy Nights; 30 years on and the Tygers are deadlier than ever. After originally disbanding in 1987, the Tygers of Pan Tang returned in 1999 and began rebuilding their career, culminating in 2012's Ambush; an album which gives you more to chew on than a 72oz raw steak! If the band's aim was to ambush it's audience with their most recent record, then they succeeded; not even their most ardent fans could have expected an album that delivered the goods so consistently. Opening track, "Keeping Me Alive", starts quietly but soon erupts into a catchier than Ebola, Hard-Rocking stomper while "Play To Win" and the appropriately titled "Speed" keep the album rolling on at a frenetic pace from first track to last. If the Tygers Of Pan Tang can follow up Ambush with a record as equally accomplished then the significant and legitimate comeback of the NWOBHM could be upon us; The New, NEW Wave Of British Heavy Metal if you will! Time will tell. With an acclaimed new album under their belts and regular appearances at festivals around Europe (they're booked to play Scotland's Wildfire Festival in 2015 amongst others), the Tygers are proving that they are stronger than ever.

I love Heavy Metal, and generally anything that involves a guitar and loud noises, so I figured it was about time I put all the useless information in my head to good use and start writing a few things. Most of the time I'll be writing nonsense but occasionally I may surprise myself and appear half-way knowledgable.....but you can be the judge of that. Thanks for your fleeting attention!
