10 Overlooked Extreme Metal Albums From 2013

2. Seeker - Unloved (Victory Records)

http://youtu.be/8s9KLzcygQo The Lowdown: It was released on Victory Records. So now you know why this scorcher of an album got completely ignored by the metal media. Which is a shame as it really is one of Victory's best and most intense records since the label started and subsequently fell into nu-core oblivion. Reminiscent of The Dillinger Escape Plan inspired mathcore bands on steroids like The Red Chord, Animosity, Engineer, Harlots, Into the Moat, Ion Dissonance etc. Unloved is a burly, angular, hefty assault of no nonsense chaos. No breakdowns, no synths, no melody, no eye liner, just a tangibly angry, 30 minute beat down. Recommended If You Like: Animosity, Ion Dissonance, having your teeth smashed in by a brick.

I am metal. I am so metal I ejaculate mercury. OK, love puppies, pro football and my daughter, so how's that for balance? I own a little metal blog called teethofthedivine.com and used to write for Metal Maniacs, Unrestrained magazines and currently help out with Hails and Horns and New Noise magazines. Yeah- I guess I am metal.
