Throughout the 2010s Father John Misty (Josh Tillman), became something of the musical messiah for oat milk drinking, hipsters. If you could screen out the incessant noise of pompous music lovers, citing this guy as the best thing since sliced bread, you might have been able to arrive at your own conclusion about his music.
For fear of sounding just as obnoxious as the previously mentioned hipster types, Misty is one of those artists that you either get or you don't. It's easy to see why people get turned off by him. In many ways his music can sound self involved, overly grandiose and laden with so much satire it's hard to figure out when he's being sincere.
Pure Comedy heard Father John Misty lay criticism onto modern life with a humorous venom, that solidified him as one of the great singer song writers of our time.
