10 Perfect Anti Rock Star Songs

9. My Big Mouth - Oasis

By the late '90s, Oasis had pretty much done everything that they set out to do when they released Definitely Maybe. After years of being on an indie label, they managed to become one of the biggest bands in the world and sell out some of the biggest gigs of all time, turning the Gallagher brothers into massive stars overnight. And while Noel's penchant for writing songs started to get a little shaky during Be Here Now, he did have a few words to say about his newfound fame on My Big Mouth.

From the chorus, this is the same kind of posturing that we've been used to from the Gallaghers, being unapologetic about anyone who they offended in their attempt to reach the top of the world. If you look closer into what's going on in the verses, Noel hints at being a little bit insecure about what the fans think about him a lot of the time.

While he has made mention of the assassin in the second verse possibly alluding to John Lennon's killer Mark David Chapman, the most meaningful line is about him not talking to God. Since the Gallaghers were reaching the heights of their musical heroes, there were a lot of people that were starting to look at them like gods among men, almost too important for mere mortals. So this is just Noel's version of trying to bring himself back down to Earth and say that he's still human. Yes...you read that correctly...even one of the Gallaghers has to be down to Earth sometimes.
