10 Perfect Country Music Albums With No Bad Songs

1. American 4: The Man Comes Around - Johnny Cash

There's a good chance that over half of this list could have been made up of Johnny Cash albums. Despite being one of the greatest singles artists in the world of country music, the Man in Black never skimped out when it came to the regular album experience, with At Folsom Prison still being one of the greatest live albums in history. If you wanted to see what true brilliance looks like, you need to stick around until the end.

Not too long before he passed away, Cash's 4th installment in his series of American Recordings sees him looking back on his life as he interprets these songs. Though only a handful of these tracks are written by Cash himself, the way he makes odd steps into the world of rock and even new wave music makes for a stunning listen. One minute you'll be marveling at his classics like Give My Love to Rose, and the next you'll be crying your eyes out as he looks back on his life on Nine Inch Nails' Hurt.

Then again, any of these songs could have made for some of the greatest in his catalog, as he flexes his booming low voice for what very well might be the final time on every one of these songs. Even though Johnny wasn't going to stay on this world for much longer after this, this was all of our reminder that there was still a giant of country music walking the earth.
