10 Perfect Hip-Hop Albums With No Bad Songs

7. Paul's Boutique - The Beastie Boys

After the smash of Licensed to Ill rocketed up the charts, most people were ready to forget about the Beastie Boys. Since the bowery boys New Yorker schtick worked for one summer, there was no way that these wannabe frat bros were going to last any longer than Fight For Your Right. As fate would have it though, the Beasties found that the best way to reach the other side is to go in the exact opposite direction of Fight For Your Right.

Hooking up with production gurus the Dust Brothers, the sound of Paul's Boutique was a real gamechanger for what hip hop could be. Being one of the most sample-heavy records in the history of hip hop, the Beasties morph and twist these musical fragments to their will, with songs like Shake Your Rump and Egg Man being some of the first highlights.

As much as fans were confused when it was first released, this has become one of the landmark records of the '80s, which would go on to influence even more rappers down the line who were eager to mess with what they could do in the studio. Though this was a different Beasties than we had seen before, it's not like they completely changed their flows or anything. The attitude was just different...and that spokes volumes across the entire rap game.
