10 Perfect Hip Hop Music Samples Of Classic Rock Songs

9. Kanye West's Power - 21st Century Schizoid Man (King Crimson)

Kanye has always been something of a polarising figure. Some consider him a wild genius - the Vincent van Gogh of hip hop if you will. Others just find his wild rants and controversial statements indicative of a man with an overblown ego. No matter what side of the fence you find yourself on, it must be admitted this man has had a monumental influence on modern music.

When Kanye dropped "Power" back in 2010 it was one hell of a flex. It came after a period of self-imposed isolation for West. This was him staking his claim back on the world of hip hip with a track that lived up to its name. With lyrics both self-deprecating and self-aggrandising, it was in keeping with West's image, displaying the duality of the man.

The production was suitably slick for a guy who made his name producing Jay-Z's The Blueprint (2001). Fusing the driving energy of King Crimson's "21st Century Schizoid Man", with a stomping percussion sample, and the unapologetic attitude of hip hop, made this one hell of a comeback.
