10 Perfect Metal Albums With Only One Bad Song

3. All In The Family - Korn

When Korn first started to break onto the scene, it was still new and exciting to see metal being mixed with hip hop.

Though Rage Against the Machine may have opened the door for something like this, hearing Jonathan Davis spit verses over some of the sludgiest riffs at the time made everything feel a lot more real, especially with the dark subject matter underneath it all. In between the hits like Freak on a Leash, the band got their good buddy Fred Durst on a cut and ruined the vibe.

On the surface, Follow the Leader is probably the peak of Korn's powers, only to fall apart to give us the rap battle that nobody wanted. Instead of just contributing a verse to the track, this is literally a dis rap between Davis and Durst which has not aged well in the slightest. Aside from the truly tasteless gay slurs that they throw at each other in pretty much every other line, Durst's rhymes verge on dad territory a lot of the time, down to making a reference to 'Korn on the cob' in his bars.

What's even worse is the production, which feels like something that the guys behind Epic Rap Battles of History could do about a thousand times better. We're all glad you all had fun, guys, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we're having fun listening to it.
