10 Perfect Rock Albums Of The 1990s

3. OK Computer - Radiohead

If you were growing up in 1993, it would make sense if you thought a band like Radiohead didn't have much of a future. Even though their single Creep was one of the biggest hits of the time, it wasn't like it was the song that would set the world on fire or anything. As it turns out, all Radiohead needed to do to move past one hit wonderdom was to really take a look at what was going on around them.

While The Bends put the group on firmer ground, OK Computer was the once in a lifetime album that signaled a change of the guard. Compared to what we were seeing out of the burnt out alternative scene, this was definitely a change of pace, complete with epics like Paranoid Android and Exit Music for a Film.

The lyrics are the real saving grace here though, with Thom Yorke painting a pretty grim picture as to what the future holds for humans down the road. Since the world is traveling so fast through the use of technology, it's only a matter of time before we do away with feelings altogether and we're left with only albums like these to calm our nerves. It's a bleak worldview to be sure, but with these tunes, it might not be that bad of a place to spend the rest of your days.
