10 Perfect Rock Songs That Got Better Live

5. Wait and Bleed - Slipknot

NOTE: SHOULD BE SPIT IT OUT, NOT WAIT AND BLEED.

Anyone who's thinking about going to a Slipknot show should really know what they're getting themselves into. Though the 9 lunatics from Iowa have been known to kick the snot out of themselves onstage from time to time, it's almost quaint compared to the gigantic moshpits that happen throughout the entire show. When you're in that chaos, there's pretty much no way the energy could be higher, but Corey Taylor found a way on Spit it Out.

On the actual record, this is still a decent enough Slipknot song, bringing with it a lot of anger and some of the more playful attempts at rap that Corey has attempted. When we get to that breakdown in the concert, everyone better be ready to unleash on Corey's command.

As the drums are keeping everything rolling and the riff plays underneath, Corey has been known to instruct the entire crowd to get as low to the ground as they possibly can so that they can all mosh when the riff kicks back in. Once Corey sees that everything's ready, he tears through the final verse of the song, building up to the loud command to "JUMP THE F*CK UP," which gives way to what he describes as the sight of an ocean of people erupting in front of him. This might be the closest that metal has come to absolute mayhem in a crowd, but there's no shame in getting this rowdy for a band like the Knot.
