It would've been a sin to round off this article without a nod to our Lita. Lita Ford is a guitarist that, much like The Great Kat, is often heralded as one of the founding females recognised for their axe-wielding talent. She and Joan Jett were the queens of rock 'n' roll with The Runaways, with Ford's lead guitar showing off her strong talent for great songs and great licks. After the break-up of The Runaways, Ford launched a solo metal career. This was received well thanks to her tight guitar skills, working with metal legends such as Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne.
