10. Synyster Gates (Avenged Sevenfold)
Woah there America, calm down. Over in the UK Avenged Sevenfold are not so roundly despised or hated, instead theyve done rather well persona-wise, and were quite looking forward to them grabbing firmly a hold of the Download Festival headliner-torch next year. That being said, M. Shadows vocals were always something of a turn-off, being that he tends to lean into the nasal-side of life more often than not. However underpinning him is one hell of a group of musicians, the most notable of which aside from the late drummer Jimmy Sullivan, is Synyster Gates, the bands badass guitarist who has more going on with his playing than a GTA V free-roaming session. Say what you will about Avenged, but they have always had a definable sound, constructed from years of honing their craft throughout the lands. Synyster strings together passages that are evermore noticeably challenging once you delve into some written notation. Any who have tried to play the chorus to their hit Beast & The Harlot can attest to this, and thats not to mention the incredible kitchen-sink-throwing solo of Afterlife, or his full-on Iron Maiden tribute Coming Home from this years Hail to the King.
