10 Popular Guitar Riffs Invented Accidentally
9. Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love
Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page is regarded as the best guitarist in the world and it is easy to see why. Not only was he a great riff maker but he also wrote and produced some of the greatest songs in history.
Page's most famous riff to date is, of course, the iconic, "Whole Lotta Love" a song that immediately makes itself known with its roaring riff and blistering beats.
Bandmate John Paul Jones later claimed that the famed riff emerged during a stage improvisation of the song, "Dazed and Confused." However, Page denied that the riff appeared on stage and that he stumbled upon it by accident while hanging out on a houseboat on the River Thames.
The song is often voted as the number one greatest riff of all time with the lyrics also receiving large amounts of praise.
